About Us
Meet Dr. Amanda Huang
Dr. Huang attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, graduating top of her class and earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 1999. She always looks for opportunities to grow her dental knowledge, including engaging in advanced courses all across the country for root canal treatment, dental implants, and cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Huang is a member of the NWCDA. As a dentist, she makes it her goal to help her patients feel confident about their smiles.
She has a 21 year-old daughter who is very active in music and dance, and Dr. Huang herself is an advanced ballroom dancer.
Dr. Huang is proud to work with a dental team that is fun, loves to laugh, and works hard. Meet Dr. Yumi Abei
Dr Abei was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Nihon University School of Dentistry. She then moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she worked at the Bolton-Brush Growth Study Center, and her research was published in multiple journals. Dr. Abei attended Case Western Reserve University, where she earned her specialty certificate and Masters of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics, becoming the first woman from Japan to do so. She continues to work at Case Western as an Assistant Clinical Professor.
She believes that in order to restore physiologic occlusion, muscle balance is one of the most important components to address, such as Masticatory muscle and tongue.
Dr. Abei is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Board of orthodontics, Pacific Society of Orthodontists, Washington State Dental Association American Dental Association, International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics, International college of Neuromuscular Orthodontics and Gnathology, and Occlusion Connections.
Meet Dr. Heng Zhou
Dr. Heng Zhou graduated from Beijing Medical University in 1995 with a master’s degree in orthodontics. From 1996 to 2000, she studied at UCLA School of Dentistry and received her PhD in Oral Biology in 2000. She further advanced her dental clinical training at Loma Linda University and received her DDS in 2002 with clinical excellence award.
Dr. Zhou started her own business in Des Moines in 2006 and she has been serving the area ever since. She has outstanding clinical skills and puts forth her utmost effort in serving patients to the best of her ability. She continues her education in order to further her knowledge in dentistry education which includes cosmetic dentistry, implant procedures, root canal treatments, and more. She strives to widen her scope of knowledge in order to provide only the best treatment to her patients and set a comfortable environment so that patients leave the office feeling good about their smile.
In her free time, Dr. Zhou enjoys traveling, reading, and history and is happy to converse with patients about their interests, too! She is also comfortable conversing in Chinese just as easily as English and hopes to see you in her office soon.
